Our Social Impact

To us, being an Akina certified social enterprise means prioritising making a positive impact on organisations and individuals, before making a profit. We particularly like working with organisations who are focused on having a positive impact, whether it be to strengthen local economies, help our communities or educate our children.

We take pride in the fact that we are the first Digital Agency in New Zealand to be given the social enterprise certification from Akina. When you work with us, you are helping us to support our communities and schools to do great things online with digital tools.

The Social Impact Counter records the impact we make and our progress in achieving our aims. This comes from;

  • Each time one of our free Digital Action Plans is created to help an organisation or individual achieve more or be safe online.

  • The number of hours donated to helping social good organisations

The Impact of our work

Sapere Research Group found in 2014 that a modest increase in New Zealand’s digital maturity would result in a $34 billion productivity gain. This amounts to a $67,000 increase per business in New Zealand.

Digital Journey has helped over 10,000 businesses to date and 92% reported through independent research that they have made, or can see productivity gains. That is a huge economic return for the 509,000 businesses in New Zealand, as well as a significant return from our free services.

Digital Capabilities

We are helping grow a more digitally able New Zealand. We’ve developed free Digital Action Plans that have already helped thousands of organisations. Try them out below:

Community and Educational Projects

We love getting involved in all sorts of projects within our community and the Education sector – it’s what we do. Fostering a Digital New Zealand is one of our main goals, and we work towards this every day. Some of our favourite projects so far include:

Formed computer clubs in low device schools and provided tablets (which we fundraised for) for the kids to use

Created a fun and interactive game for children staying at Ronald McDonald Homes

Loads of hours spent providing free training sessions to not for profits and charities across New Zealand.

Heaps of time doing one on one coaching, providing free advice to grow digital confidence

Ran a cyber security programme across schools to help staff understand the risks and what to look out for

Our Partners

Our partners help us do what we do. We couldn’t have started or continue our work without their support. It is great to have partners working with us, who share our vision and values. If you’d like to know more about how we work with partners, just email or call – we’d love to talk.
